Makers have always learned by looking sideways: at a fold, a border, a letter, a joint, a silhouette, a solution invented centuries earlier for another problem.
I keep this cabinet for that kind of looking. Use it to study proportion, surface, composition, and construction. Keep the provenance attached. Take the principle, not the authority of the original maker or museum.
